Why families choose Rundil

Why families choose Rundil for childcare in Switzerland

Hiring childcare in Switzerland usually means becoming an employer overnight — payroll, AHV, insurance, and the quiet fear of getting any of it wrong. Rundil removes all of that. We employ the nanny, vet her to Swiss standards, and stand behind the care with guaranteed cover — so the only thing left for you is to watch your child be happy and safe.

Assigned, not browsed

You never scroll through profiles hoping to guess well. Tell us your family's needs and we assign a vetted, English-speaking nanny — typically within 48 to 72 hours.

Employed by Rundil

We are the legal employer. No AHV, no BVG, no UVG, no payroll and no placement fee — and none of the CHF 40,000 risk of getting Swiss employment law wrong.

Safety, verified

Every nanny holds a Swiss criminal-record extract and current CPR and first-aid certification, with references checked before the first assignment.

Never stranded, never locked in

Guaranteed replacement cover if your nanny is unavailable, and no minimum contract — adjust hours, pause, or stop whenever life changes.

The Rundil difference

You are never the employer. We are.

Hire a nanny privately or through a placement agency and, the moment she starts, you become an employer under Swiss law — responsible for AHV, BVG and UVG contributions, payroll, insurance and compliance, with fines of up to CHF 40,000 for getting it wrong. With Rundil, none of that is ever yours.

How every Rundil nanny is vetted

Before a nanny ever meets your child, she clears the same three-part standard — the checks a babysitting marketplace quietly leaves to you.

Hire directly, or let Rundil carry the employer role

The headline hourly rate is only half the story. Everything below sits with the family when you hire privately — and with Rundil when you don't.

A CHF 47/hour Rundil nanny sits beside a CHF 29/hour direct hire — until you add ~18% employer contributions, a placement fee, the payroll admin, the legal exposure, and a sick nanny who leaves you stranded. Then Rundil is usually the lower number, and always the lower risk.

The real cost

The true cost of a nanny in Switzerland

Swiss childcare runs from a ~CHF 29/hour direct hire to a CHF 3,000+ agency placement. Rundil sits in the middle on the headline number and, once the hidden costs are added, usually below — because the employer role never becomes yours.

Cover & flexibility

Guaranteed cover & never locked in

The two things families fear most about childcare — being let down, and being stuck — written down rather than implied.

Guaranteed replacement cover

Because Rundil employs the nannies, care does not depend on one person's calendar. If your assigned nanny is ever ill or unavailable, Rundil provides a substitute so your cover holds. And if the fit is not right going forward, we reassign at no cost and with no awkward conversation.

Childcare in Switzerland: your questions answered

How much does a nanny cost in Switzerland?
Rundil childcare in Switzerland costs CHF 42, 47 or 54 per hour excl. 8.1% VAT, depending on the nanny's experience tier — Qualified CHF 42, Experienced CHF 47 and Expert CHF 54. Short-notice, out-of-hours, weekend and emergency care uses the on-demand Flex rate of CHF 55/hr. A minimum session of two hours applies to every tier, and the rate is charged per child.
Do I have to become an employer, register the nanny or pay AHV?
No. Rundil is the legal employer of every nanny. You purchase a childcare service from Rundil and sign a service agreement — not an employment contract with the nanny. You have zero AHV, BVG or UVG obligations; Rundil handles all payroll, social contributions, insurance and compliance.
What is the difference between a nanny agency and Rundil?
A placement or recruitment agency finds you a nanny and then hands you a CV — and the legal role of employer. Rundil is a managed childcare service, not a placement agency. Rundil employs the nanny, so there is no placement fee, no employer paperwork, and guaranteed replacement cover if your nanny is ever unavailable.
How do you vet your nannies?
Every Rundil nanny is criminal-background-checked with a Swiss criminal-record extract (Strafregisterauszug) verified before the first assignment, holds CPR and first-aid certification, and is interviewed and reference-checked. English is spoken as a minimum.
Are your nannies first-aid and CPR certified?
Yes. Every Rundil nanny holds current CPR and first-aid certification, in every tier, verified as part of vetting before they are assigned to a family.
What happens if my nanny is sick or unavailable?
You are never left stranded. Because Rundil employs the nannies, replacement cover is guaranteed — if your assigned nanny is unavailable, Rundil provides a substitute so your care continues.
Can I get an English-speaking nanny?
Yes. All Rundil nannies speak English as a minimum. The service is English-first and designed for international and expat families in Switzerland; many nannies are multilingual.
How quickly is a nanny assigned?
A nanny is typically assigned within 48 to 72 hours of your booking. Faster is sometimes possible but is never guaranteed. Rundil assigns based on your family profile and availability, and confirms the details by WhatsApp.
Is there a minimum commitment or contract period?
No. There is no long-term commitment and no minimum contract period. You can adjust hours, pause, or stop at any time. A regular weekly commitment of around eight hours is recommended because it works best for the child, but it is not required.
What is your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the session. The 48-hour window is the minimum notice for planned, in-hours care. Care booked at short notice — under 48 hours before the session — falls under the on-demand Flex rate.
What is the difference between the tiers and Flex?
Qualified (CHF 42/hr), Experienced (CHF 47/hr) and Expert (CHF 54/hr) are the rates for planned, scheduled, in-hours care and reflect the nanny's experience and qualifications. Flex (CHF 55/hr) is the on-demand rate for short-notice, out-of-hours, weekend, holiday or emergency care — a Qualified-standard nanny available when you need flexibility.
Do you offer after-school, emergency or occasional care?
Yes. Rundil covers regular weekly care, after-school nanny care and school-run cover, holiday and occasional care, and emergency and short-notice care under the on-demand Flex rate.
Which areas of Switzerland do you cover?
Rundil Childcare covers the whole of Switzerland, all cantons. Active promotion currently focuses on Zurich and Zug, but coverage is Switzerland-wide. Add your address on the booking form to confirm availability in your area.
Can I choose or hire the nanny myself?
Rundil assigns a nanny based on your family profile and availability, rather than asking you to browse and hire. If the assigned nanny is not the right fit, Rundil reassigns at no cost. You never become the nanny's employer.
Do you help with homework or tutoring?
Rundil nannies at the Expert tier are primary-school-curriculum aware and can support homework as part of care. For structured academic tutoring beyond childcare scope, we cross-refer to Rundil Tutoring Services.

Managed childcare in Switzerland, without the employer paperwork

Rundil Childcare provides English-speaking, fully-managed nanny care across Switzerland, for international and expat families in Zürich, Zug and every canton. The difference that matters is structural: Rundil is the employer of every nanny, not a placement or recruitment agency. You purchase a childcare service and sign a service agreement with Rundil — you never sign an employment contract with the nanny, never register as an employer, and never take on AHV, BVG or UVG obligations. Rundil handles payroll, social contributions, insurance and compliance, so a decision that usually comes wrapped in Swiss employment law becomes, simply, reliable care.

Safety you can actually check

Every Rundil nanny holds a Swiss criminal-record extract (Strafregisterauszug) verified before the first assignment, current CPR and first-aid certification, and checked references — and speaks English as a minimum. You are not asked to browse profiles and guess: Rundil assigns a nanny to your family profile, typically within 48 to 72 hours, and confirms the details by WhatsApp. If the assigned nanny is ever unavailable, replacement cover is guaranteed, and if the fit is not right, Rundil reassigns without friction.

Priced clearly, charged per child, and never locked in

Rundil charges CHF 42, 47 or 54 per hour excl. 8.1% VAT for planned care — Qualified, Experienced and Expert — and a Flex on-demand rate of CHF 55/hr for short-notice, out-of-hours, weekend, holiday and emergency care. Rates are charged per child with a minimum two-hour session, and there is one national rate with no Zürich or Zug differentiation. There is no minimum contract and no registration fee: adjust hours, pause, or stop at any time, with free cancellation up to 48 hours before a session. Families across Zürich, Zug and the rest of Switzerland choose Rundil because the care is excellent — and everything an employer would normally worry about stays with Rundil.

Safe, loving childcare — without becoming an employer.

English-speaking, criminal-background-checked, CPR-certified nannies from CHF 42/hour, assigned in 48–72 hours, with guaranteed replacement cover. Rundil employs the nanny — you simply have reliable care.
